The City of Šibenik is a unit of local self-government, and through ten administrative departments it is responsible for the planning and implementation of activities related to urbanism, economy and entrepreneurship, communal services, social welfare, childcare, education, transport, civil protection, etc. The activities of the City of Šibenik are aimed at establishing favorable conditions for business and living in the local community and ensuring balanced and long-term sustainable social and economic development for its population. The city of Šibenik is recognized for the implementation of various infrastructure projects co-financed by the EU and national sources. The City of Šibenik attaches special importance to projects that contribute to social inclusion, education, and the creation of better conditions for disadvantaged groups, as well as greater availability of social services. The Department for Economy, Entrepreneurship and Development is responsible for the implementation of the RaSTEM project, which performs tasks related to the stimulation of economic development and the implementation of EU projects from various programs. The activities of the Department for Economy, Entrepreneurship and Development related to the implementation of projects are the application and implementation of projects of interest to the City of Šibenik and the preparation of legal and financial documentation for the implementation of the project, as well as the implementation of all project implementation activities.
FER is the largest technical faculty and the leading educational and research institution in the field of electrical engineering, information and communication technology and computing in the Republic of Croatia. The current research and educational staff includes more than 190 professors and 202 teaching and research assistants, as well as about 3,300 undergraduate and graduate students and 326 doctoral students. The role of FER in the implementation of the project is oriented towards the creation of educational programs in the STEM field as well as the creation of educational programs for students with special educational needs. Experts from FER will also be in charge of 120-hour trainer training, organization of the project partners’ meeting in Zagreb, as well as the development of the program of summer stem camps, hackathons and field teaching workshops. Experts from FER will also participate in a study trip to Norway in order to further strengthen their knowledge and familiarize themselves with examples of good practice, and they will also work on the establishment of RZC Rastem.
Meterize Elementary School was officially opened on January 14, 2013. It is located in the city district of the same name on a total area of 25,200 square meters. The school is modernly equipped and classes are held in the first shift. The school is in the final phase of Carnet’s e-school pilot project. The school is currently implementing a project “It’s good to do good”, which helps the most needy, and has significant experience in implementing Erasmus projects. Due to the exceptional environmental space through activity 3, the partner will be in charge of building a STEM garden, which will be intended to educate students about growing plants and food according to green technology. Also, through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation, who will, through activity 2, educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills.
Elementary school Brodarica, together with regional schools Krapanj and Grebaštica, has been operating for 16 years, and has stood out for numerous projects related to the STEM field. Brodarica Elementary School is also part of the Regional Education Centers of the Carnet network. The school was declared one of the 10 regional educational centers of the Republic of Croatia with regard to the IT literacy of the employees and participation in education in the field of STEM. The role of partners in the project proposal is oriented towards the education of teachers and students in the STEM field. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation who, through activity 2, will educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills.
Jurja Dalmatinac Elementary School is located in the very center of the city of Šibenik, and has stood out for numerous projects such as the School Scheme and Life Skills Training. The role of partners in the project proposal is oriented towards the education of teachers and students in the STEM field as well as the development of the Regional Science Center “RaSTEM”. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 3 teachers in the areas of implementation who, through activity 2, will educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills. The partner is also responsible for the education of five children with special educational needs.
The Croatian Robotics Association (HROBOS) is a non-profit umbrella association of robotics in Croatia. It was founded in 2013 and currently consists of 23 member associations from all over Croatia. The primary goal of HROBOS is the development and promotion of robotics in Croatia. The association takes care of all aspects of the development of children and young people, and especially encourages technical and algorithmic thinking and creativity through various practical contents. The role of HROBOS in the implementation of the project is oriented towards the creation of educational programs in the STEM field as well as the creation of educational programs for students with special educational needs. The experts will be in charge of training trainers for 120 hours, as well as developing the program of summer stem camps, hackathons and field teaching workshops.
OsloMet is an urban university with a diverse academic profile and a clear international orientation. Through the research they conduct and the students they educate, OsloMet strives to respond to the needs of society and the labor market. OsloMet is forward-looking and committed to adopting new technologies and innovative solutions that improve the way universities are run. Through the project proposal, they will be in charge of supervision, audit and advisory services, all for the purpose of improving educational programs in the STEM field that will be developed through this project proposal. They will also be in charge of organizing a study trip to Oslo for members of the project team and experts who will work on the development of STEM programs. The study trip envisages the organization of an educational workshop in the STEM field, a visit to institutions that specialize in the STEM field, all for the purpose of transmitting examples of good practice and strengthening the skills of key experts.
The school operates in the main school in Skradin and in regional schools in Rupa, Piramatovci and Dubravice. The school has an insufficiently equipped IT classroom, which should be renovated so that STEM education can be carried out in it. This is desirable for the reason that the school has an interest in STEM fields, especially robotics; students participate in state robotics competitions held annually. The role of partners in the project proposal is oriented towards the education of teachers and students in the STEM field. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation who, through activity 2, will educate students in the STEM field and the field of sub-apprenticeships, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills.
Elementary school Murterski Škoji – Murter together with the regional school Betina, includes the town of Murter and the town of Betinu with about 2,700 inhabitants. The main school is in Murter, and the Regional Department is in Betina. The school has experience in implementing Erasmus projects and projects such as the Blue Eco Patrol, Schools for Africa, etc. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation who, through activity 2, will educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, and thereby further strengthening the STEM skills of students.
In addition to the Vrpolje home school, the Vrpolje elementary school also includes the regional school Perković, where subject and class classes are organized. Vrpolje Elementary School is the only rural school in the area of the city of Šibenik, and there is a large number of students – travelers who travel from the surrounding towns (Kraljice, Danilo, Boraja, Vrsno, Lepenica, Donje polje, Donje Vrpolje, Gornje Vrpolje, Slivno, Mravnica and Sitno Donje). . This is one of the schools that includes the rural parts of Šibenik-Knin County. He has experience in the realization of various projects, such as the Etwinnig project. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation who, through activity 2, will educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills.
The primary school Juraj Šižgorić is located in the center of the city of Šibenik, it is distinguished by the implementation of projects such as: Life skills training, Erasmus +, Etwinning projects, Comenius projects, Action! Research, Nutrition 3, etc. Through activity 1, the partner will strengthen capacities and educate 2 teachers in the areas of implementation, who will, through activity 2, educate students in the STEM field and the field of entrepreneurship, thereby further strengthening the students’ STEM skills.
